Roliten tablets (Generic Detrol LA) are used for the treatment of an overactive bladder with symptoms of urge urinary incontinence, urgency and frequency. Uses of Generic Detrol LA (Torq SR Capsules by Dr. Reddy's Laboratories)

This medicine is used to treat overactive bladder or loss of bladder control in adults. Overactive bladder happens when you cannot control your bladder muscle. When the muscle contracts too often or cannot be controlled, you get symptoms of overactive bladder, which are leakage of urine (urge urinary incontinence), needing to urinate right away (urgency), and needing to urinate often (frequency).

Tolterodine Extended Release Capsules - Dosage

The recommended dose of Tolterodine extended release capsules (Torq SR or Roliten OD tablets) is 4 mg once daily. Torq SR capsules should be taken once daily with water and swallowed whole. The dosage can be lowered to 2 mg once daily, based on individual response and tolerability.

How to Use Generic Detrol LA (Torq Sustained Release Capsules)

Take Generic Detrol LA exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not change your dose unless told to do so by your doctor.
Take 1 capsule once a day with liquid. Swallow the whole capsule, do not chew. It can be taken with or without food same time each day.

If you miss a dose of Torq SR capsules, begin taking this medicine again the next day. Do not take 2 doses in the same day .If you took more than your prescribed dose of this medicine, call your doctor or poison control center, or go to the hospital emergency room.

Tolterodine Side effects

The most common side effects reported by patients undergoing treatment with Tolterodine extended release capsules were dry mouth, headache, constipation and abdominal pain.

The other side effects of Tolterodine capsules (Torq SR) are blurred vision, dizziness, and drowsiness. Use caution while driving or doing other dangerous activities until you know how this medicine affects you.

Torq SR Capsules (Generic Detrol LA) Contraindications

Torq SR capsules are contraindicated in patients with urinary retention, gastric retention or uncontrolled narrow-angle glaucoma. • certain medicines for fungus or yeast infections such as Nizoral® (ketoconazole), Sporanox® (itraconazole), and Monistat® (miconazole)
• certain medicines for bacterial infections such as Biaxin® (clarithromycin) and erythromycin
• Sandimmune® (cyclosporine) or Velban® (vinblastine)

Know the medicines you take. Keep a list of them with you to show your doctor each time you get a new medicine.

Tolterodine During Pregnancy

Tolterodine has been classified by the US FDA as Pregnancy Category C.
There are no studies of Tolterodine extended release capsules in pregnant women. Hence, Torq SR capsules should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefit for the mother justifies the potential risk to the foetus. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant during treatment.

Tolterodine During Breastfeeding

It is not known whether Tolterodine is excreted in human milk. Therefore, Torq SR capsules should not be administered to nursing mothers. A decision should be made whether to discontinue nursing or to discontinue Torq SR capsules in nursing mothers. Do not use this medicine without telling your doctor if you are breastfeeding a baby.
