Proscare Tablets ( Generic Finasteride 5 mg) is a specific enzyme inhibitor that is used to treat men with benign prostatic enlargement (benign prostatic hyperplasia or BPH).Finasteride reduces the enlarged prostate and relieves urinary tract symptoms. This medicine reduces the risk of suddenly being unable to urinate (acute urinary retention) and having to undergo surgery.

EXPOSURE OF WOMEN — RISK TO MALE FETUS

Proscare tablets are coated and will prevent contact with the active ingredient during normal handling, provided that the tablets have not been broken or crushed.
A doctor should access if you have other conditions such as infection, prostate cancer, stricture disease, hypotonic bladder, or other neurogenic disorders that might mimic BPH before initiating therapy with Proscare tablets.

Proscare Side effects

The common Finasteride 5 mg (Proscare Tablets) side effects reported in 1% or more of the patients treated with Finasteride 5 mg and greater than in patients treated with placebo are Impotence, Decreased Libido, Decreased Volume Of Ejaculate, Ejaculation Disorder, Breast Enlargement, Breast Tenderness and Rash

The following additional side effects have been reported in post-marketing experience:
• hypersensitivity reactions, including pruritus, urticaria, and swelling of the lips and face
• testicular pain
• male breast cancer

Proscare Tablets - Overdosage
