Meloxicam tablets are used for the treatment of pain and inflammation caused by osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis in adults and children who are at least 12 years old.
In patients for whom longer-term use may be necessary, treatment efficacy should be reviewed within the first month of treatment and Generic Mobic (M-Cam tablets) withdrawn in case there is a no medical benefit. Patients on long-term treatment should be examined regularly, such as every three months with regards to efficacy, risk factors and the ongoing necessity for treatment.
Meloxicam is a Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug (NSAID) belonging to the enolic acid class, which has shown anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic properties. The active ingredient present in M-Cam tablets is Meloxicam. Each tablet of M-Cam contains 7.5 mg or 15 mg of Meloxicam.
Uses of Generic Mobic (M-Cam Tablets by Unichem)

How to Use Generic Mobic (M-Cam Tablets by Unichem)
Take Generic Mobic (Meloxicam tablets) exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not take in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended. Do not exceed the maximum daily amount for adults of 15 milligrams (mg) per day.
Your blood will need to be tested often if you use this medicine long-term. Visit your doctor regularly. M-Cam tablets can cause you to have unusual results with certain medical tests. Tell any doctor who treats you that you are using this medicine.

Meloxicam Tablets (Generic Mobic)- Contraindications
Generic Mobic (Meloxicam tablets) is contraindicated in the following cases.
- Patients with known hypersensitivity to Meloxicam or any inactive ingredient prsent in M-Cam tablets.
- Rare hereditary conditions that may be incompatible with any ingredient of Generic Mobic tablets.
- Use in patients who have developed signs of asthma, nasal polyps, angioedema or urticaria following the administration of aspirin or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) because of a potential for crosssensitivity
- Active or recent gastro-intestinal ulceration / perforation.
- Active inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's Disease or Ulcerative Colitis)
- Severe hepatic insufficiency.
- Non-dialysed severe renal insufficiency.
- Overt gastro-intestinal bleeding, recent cerebrovascular bleeding or established systemic bleeding disorders.
- Severe uncontrolled heart failure.
- Patients who have previously had a myocardial infarction or stroke.
- Peri-operative pain in the setting of cardiac surgery, including coronary artery bypass graft (CABG), or major vascular surgery
- Use in children below 12 years of age.
- Pregnancy or lactation
Meloxicam Side effects
The most common side effects of Meloxicam tablets (M-Cam) with an incidence rate greater than or equal to 5% and higher than placebo in adults are diarrhea, upper respiratory tract infections, dyspepsia, and influenza-like symptoms Use of Generic Mobic tablets can result in gastrointestinal toxicity and bleeding, headaches, rash, and very dark or black stool (which is a sign of intestinal bleeding) and is associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular events such as heart attack and stroke.
Get emergency medical help if you have any signs of an allergic reaction including: hives, difficulty breathing, and swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Stop using Meloxicam tablets and call your doctor at once if you have a serious side effect such as:
• chest pain, weakness, shortness of breath, slurred speech, problems with vision or balance
• black, bloody, or tarry stools
• coughing up blood or vomit that looks like coffee grounds
• swelling or rapid weight gain
• urinating less than usual or not at all
• nausea, upper stomach pain, itching, loss of appetite, dark urine, clay-colored stools, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes)
• skin rash, bruising, severe tingling, numbness, pain, muscle weakness
• severe skin reaction -- fever, sore throat, swelling in your face or tongue, burning in your eyes, skin pain, followed by a red or purple skin rash that spreads (especially in the face or upper body) and causes blistering and peeling
Less serious side effects may include:
• upset stomach, diarrhea, bloating, gas
• dizziness, nervousness, headache
• runny or stuffy nose, sore throat
• mild skin rash
Overdose symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, dizziness, drowsiness, black or bloody stools, coughing up blood, fever, urinating less than usual or not at all, shallow breathing, fainting, seizure (convulsions), or coma. This is not a complete list of side effects and others may occur. Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects.
Warnings & Precautions When Using Generic Mobic (M-Cam Tablets)
Generic Mobic (M-Cam Tablets) may cause life-threatening heart or circulation problems such as heart attack or stroke, especially if you use it long term. It may also cause serious effects on the stomach or intestines, including bleeding or perforation (forming of a hole). These conditions can be fatal and can occur without warning while you are taking it, especially in older adults. You should not use this medicine if you are allergic to meloxicam (the active ingredient), or if you have a history of allergic reaction to aspirin, sulfa drugs, or other NSAIDs.
Do not use Generic Mobic tablets just before or after heart bypass surgery (coronary artery bypass graft, or CABG).
To make sure you can safely take this medicine, tell your doctor if you have any of these other conditions:
• a history of heart attack, stroke, or blood clot
• heart disease, congestive heart failure, high blood pressure
• a history of stomach ulcers or bleeding
• liver or kidney disease
• a seizure disorder such as epilepsy
• asthma
• polyps in your nose
• if you smoke
Avoid drinking alcohol. It may increase your risk of stomach bleeding. Avoid taking this medicine together with other NSAIDs such as aspirin, ibuprofen (Motrin®, Advil®), naproxen (Aleve®, Naprosyn®, Naprelan®, Treximet®), celecoxib (Celebrex®), diclofenac (Arthrotec®, Cambia®, Cataflam®, Voltaren®, Flector Patch®, Pennsaid®, Solareze®), diflunisal (Dolobid®), etodolac (Lodine®), flurbiprofen (Ansaid®), indomethacin (Indocin®), ketoprofen (Orudis®), ketorolac (Toradol®), mefenamic acid (Ponstel®), nabumetone (Relafen®), or piroxicam (Feldene®).
Ask a doctor before using any other cold, allergy, or pain medicine. Medicines similar to this medicine are contained in many combination medicines. Meloxicam During Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
Meloxicam has been classified by the US FDA as Pregnancy Category C. It has also been classified as Pregnancy Category D starting 30 weeks gestation. There are no adequate and well-controlled studies conducted in pregnant women. Meloxicam is known to cross the placental barrier. Prior to 30 weeks gestation, use Meloxicam tablets during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus. From 30 weeks gestation onwards, do not use Generic Mobic tablets and other NSAIDs, in pregnant women as premature closure of the ductus arteriosus in the fetus may occur.
This medicine can cause harm to an unborn baby. Stop using this medication and tell your doctor right away if you become pregnant during treatment. This medicine may cause injury and even death to the unborn baby if you take it during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy. Do not use this medicine without your doctor's consent if you are pregnant.
Studies have proved that NSAIDs pass into mother's milk. Administration therefore is contraindicated in women who are breastfeeding. Do not use this medication without telling your doctor if you are breastfeeding a baby.
Meloxicam and Alcohol
Use of alcohol increases the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding in patients that use NSAIDs including Meloxicam. Hence patients undergoing therapy with Meloxicam tablets are strongly advised not to consume alcohol.
