Asprin and Dipyridamole Capsules During Pregnancy
Asprin and Dipyridamole capsules have been classified by the US FDA as Pregnancy Category D.
Since Generic Aggrenox contains Aspirin, Aggrenox can cause fetal harm when administered to a pregnant woman. The use of Arreno by pregnant women during the later stages of pregnancy can cause low birth weight, increased incidence for intracranial hemorrhage in premature infants, stillbirths and neonatal death. Due to the above reasons and because of the well known effects of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) on the fetal cardiovascular system (closure of the ductus arteriosus), pregnant women should not be administered Aggrenox and more so in the third trimester of pregnancy.
Do not use Generic Aggrenox (Aspirin and Extended-Release Dipyridamole capsules) without your doctor's consent in case you are pregnant. Stop using Generic Aggrenox and inform your doctor immediately if you become pregnant during treatment.
